Traveling With Diamond Paintings: All the Tips & Tricks You Must Know To Diamond Paint On The Go!
Are you someone who can’t go anywhere without your favorite hobby of diamond painting? If so, this article is for you! This is everything you need to know about diamond painting on the GO…
A few months back I had a trip planned to visit family in Florida. Of course I was looking forward to the trip but once I started packing I realized a MAJOR PROBLEM. I had no way of packing my barely finished diamond painting and I was going to be gone for three…whole…weeks! There was no way I could survive three weeks of family without my favorite form of relaxation (diamond painting, duh!). This problem needed a solution immediately.
Luckily I was able to figure out the right preparation and travel accessories needed to get my diamond painting kit to Florida with me and yes, my trip included flying on an airplane.
Now, I would not be a true diamond painting advocate and supporter if I didn’t share these tips and tricks for traveling with diamond paintings with my fellow diamond painting enthusiasts…So here goes nothing. I hope you find this useful!
✈️Travel Tip 1: Use a Puzzle Carrier For Your Canvas
Puzzle carriers are a life saver! Amazon is a great place for a puzzle carrier. The carrier helps keep your canvas rolled tight and protects it from any damage during your travels. There are many different types of puzzle carriers but I recommend a carrier with an inflatable tube and roll-up mat to ensure your diamonds are locked in place. You should also roll your canvas with the diamonds facing outward to avoid creating any creases. If you are a DIY type like myself you can even create your own puzzle carrier with some felt, a pool noodle and some rubber bands. But that’s another project for another time.
✈️Travel Tip 2: Purchase An Art Portfolio Case
If you don’t like the thought of rolling up your diamond painting in a puzzle carrier or pool noodle, you may want to consider an art portfolio case. These bags are great because they are lightweight and water resistant so you know your diamond painting will be safe during your travels.
✈️Travel Tip 3: Use Spill-Proof Vials For Your Diamonds
The normal, everyday diamond containers you use at home are great for at home use but not so much for traveling. You are going to want something that is more secure like a “spill proof” vial with caps that screw on tightly and are not going to go anywhere. You are also going to need a durable case to carry these vials in that has a zipper and foam inserts to keep everything locked in and secure.
✈️Travel Tip 4: Pack a Smaller Diamond Painting Kit
This tip seems obvious but traveling with a smaller kit is definitely a lot more manageable. I don’t recommend packing the largest diamond painting kit you own but hey, your choice and it depends on how long you will be away of course!
✈️Travel Tip 5: Don’t Spend The Entire Trip Diamond Painting
Diamond painting can be so addicting and such a great time but remember to enjoy other activities and adventures while you’re traveling. You never know who you’ll meet, what you’ll see or what new hobbies you might pick up in the process! Your diamond paintings will still be there when you get back and there will always be more new designs to complete!
